About Stichting Handala
Our approach is multifaceted: we provide direct assistance through donations and financial support for daily needs, medical care, and educational materials. In addition, we aim to strengthen community development, with a current priority on improving healthcare. One of our key initiatives is organizing remote routine care for chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, with the goal of improving health outcomes and easing the burden on local healthcare systems.
We also strive to foster academic exchange. By supporting educational study trips and collaborations between (medical) students in Palestine and abroad, we aim to promote knowledge sharing and mutual development.
Stichting Handala is a non-profit organization. Board members receive no compensation for their work. Except for operational costs, all funds are dedicated to achieving our mission.
In our initial years, we are focused on building a network of engaged supporters, particularly among Palestinians in the diaspora with family in the occupied territories. We also seek funding through grants, especially for academic or medical projects eligible for scientific research funding.
Together, we work toward a future where dignity, health, and education are accessible to all.
